A Look at my creative world
Creativity, painting and making art have been a part of me from a young age. I always knew that I wanted to do something creative with my life, but it wasn't until studying at college that I discovered Surface Pattern Design... something that meant I could keep using my drawings and watercolour paintings but in a completely new way!
Since graduating with a (BA) Textile Design, I have continued to explore my artistic style and become a print & pattern designer.
I am from the UK and I'm based in Swaledale, North Yorkshire where I work from my home studio. In the last few years I have had some amazing opportunities as a freelance print designer. I am passionate about creating beautiful patterns that connect with people and are as much about the art as they are the end product.
Within my work I am versatile, which allows me to adapt to briefs and current trends. I have experienced in designing florals, paisley, flora & fauna and other nature inspired themes.
I specialise in hand-painting, primarily with watercolour, with some digital drawing techniques. I continually take inspiration from nature and my surroundings as well as my travels. I create unique designs that are suitable for many different outcomes, I am always open to new ideas for my work.
As well as print design, I have also designed wedding invites and worked on my own brand with stationary & gifting products.
I am grateful that I get to create as a job, something that I love, there a many opportunities out there for artists and I am excited to see what the future holds!
